Grand Cochon in Chicago at City Winery on September 30 celebrates ten years of North America’s first whole pig chef competition!
On the evening of September 30th, eleven winning chefs from cities across the U.S. and Canada will compete in the ultimate culinary showdown for the North American crown of “King or Queen of Porc.” The date will also mark the 10th anniversary of Cochon555’s first chef competition in Atlanta. In addition to serving up some of the best pork bites on the planet, hand-crafted punches will be flowing as top barkeeps from cities across the U.S. and Canada will compete in the ultimate large format punch showdown at “The Last Call”.
This exciting heritage pork event will feature celebrated chefs and nose-to-tail cookery in a stand-up gourmet tasting menu, served alongside luxury wines, boutique spirits, handcrafted cocktails, and some of the best cheeses, charcuterie, sweets, and pop-up food experiences the country has to offer. A portion of the weekend’s proceeds go to Piggy Bank, a farm-in-the-making dedicated to supporting heritage breed pig farmers with free genetics and financial know-how, including business plans posted online. Grand Cochon is a culinary weekend filled with rare tastes, education, all-inclusive drink experience, and inspiration.
